Overview
The Gynecologic Cytopathology Screening Program, accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), is a Specialized Professional Program (SPP) designed to address the critical need for skilled professionals in the field of gynecologic cytopathology screening. Hosted by the Anatomic Pathology and Histo-Cytotechnology Academy, this 19-weeks course offers a hybrid learning experience combining virtual lectures with practical, hands-on sessions.

Curriculum Focus: The curriculum is meticulously crafted to cover all essential aspects of gynecologic cytopathology. Participants will delve into the anatomy, embryology, cytomorphology, and pathophysiology of the female genital tract. The course also includes instructions on different cytopreparation techniques, quality assurance, and laboratory safety. It emphasizes practical skills in Pap smear screening using the Bethesda System for reporting cervical cytopathology.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the program and passing the final exams, participants will receive a Certificate of Competency (CoC) added to their SCFHS registration card/certificate, and it will be valid for 3 years (Renewal requires 20 CME hours in the field of gynecologic cytopathology).
Target Audience: This program is designed for laboratory specialists, senior laboratory specialists, pathologists, and pathology residents who aim to specialize or enhance their expertise in gynecologic cytopathology.
Program Eligibility Criteria:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences/technology, or a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery.
- A valid/current SCFHS registration.

- Refund Policy:
- Before Program Start Date: A 5% administrative fee will be deducted from any refunds processed before the program start date.
- After Program Start Date: No refunds will be issued once the program has commenced.
